Missing Out on Four Hours of Sleep….Totally Worth It!

Last night around 1:45, my hubby and I assisted our ewe, Skippy, in giving birth. The lamb was elbow-locked and very large. This was Skippy’s (and ours) first time lambing. Thankfully, we ended up with a healthy mamma and a healthy baby.

I was a bit nervous there for awhile I wasn’t sure we’d be able to get the lamb out in one piece. However, it was thrilling for me to reach in there and feel that the baby was still alive. If my hubby hadn’t been around to help, I don’t think it would have ended so well. I just wasn’t strong enough to pull.

Poor Skippy. But she’s happy now.
