Bonnie

I’ve had a hard time with milk cows. My sweet Dixie cow died about 18 months ago. I still miss her!

However, life on the farm doesn’t stop.

I’ve decided to move away from trying to keep a Jersey cow. They’re just too delicate for our management style here on the farm. I’ve lost several and I don’t want to go through it again.

We’re trying something new. I no have Bonnie. She’s a beef breed, though I’m not sure what her specific breed is. Maybe speckled park? More importantly, Bonnie is calm and gentle. It doesn’t hurt that she’s beautiful too.

Since she’s a beef breed, if she has a bull calf, we can get a decent price for her calf too.

I’m fairly certain she is bred for spring calving. I can’t wait to get back to milking again!
